PapuaAround.com – The Directorate of Water and Air Police (Polairud) of the Papua Regional Police has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment by deploying its personnel to assist PT Air Minum Jayapura (AMJ) in installing an underwater pipeline. This project aims to ensure that Enggros Village, Jayapura City’s residents have adequate access to clean water.
Enggros Village, located on Enggros Island, is reachable within five minutes by motorboat from the Mangrove Forest tourist pier. Deputy Director of Polairud Papua Regional Police, AKBP Herzoni Saragih, said on Friday that 10 personnel were deployed to install the underwater pipeline to the village.
“Our personnel had to dive to a depth of five meters to lay the pipeline, ensuring clean water supply to Enggros Village,” said AKBP Herzoni Saragih. “Currently, the work is still being carried out by members of Polair Polda Papua.”
Polairud’s involvement in this project is a tangible step towards ensuring that the residents of Enggros Village no longer face difficulties in accessing clean water. The full support of Polairud in this process has been crucial to successfully installing the 500-meter pipeline.
In a separate statement, the President Director of PT Air Minum Jayapura, Entis Sutisna, explained that the underwater pipeline installation aims to replace the old, leaking pipes. These leaks have left the residents of Enggros Village without clean water services for the past two years.
“It is true that the previous pipes experienced leaks and could no longer supply clean water to Enggros Island,” said Entis Sutisna. “Residents had to use motorboats to fetch clean water from near Kali Kayaan, Entrop, or purchase it from water providers.”

With the assistance of divers from Polair Polda Papua, the new 500-meter pipeline has been installed, utilizing the water source from Siborbonji. This pipeline installation is expected to address the problematic leakage issues and provide a long-term solution for the residents of Enggros Village.
Entis Sutisna also expressed his hope that there would be no more leaks in the newly installed pipeline, allowing the residents of Enggros Village to fully enjoy clean water. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of residents paying their water bills on time to support the sustainability of clean water services in the area.
“We hope there will be no more leaks, so the residents of the village can enjoy clean water to the fullest, and we urge our customers to pay their bills on time,” said Entis Sutisna.
The cooperation between Polair Polda Papua and PT Air Minum Jayapura is a tangible example of solidarity and synergy between agencies in providing the best service to the community. Polairud’s active involvement not only demonstrates a high level of dedication in its duty to maintain security and order but also in helping solve everyday problems faced by the community.
With the completion of the underwater pipeline installation, it is hoped that the residents of Enggros Village will find it easier to access clean water, thereby improving their quality of life. This project is also expected to inspire other agencies to participate in activities that have a positive impact on the wider community.
The efforts made by Polair Polda Papua in collaboration with PT Air Minum Jayapura to install an underwater pipeline for Enggros Village are commendable positive steps. The support and cooperation between government agencies and private companies show that by working together, various problems can be effectively resolved. It is hoped that in the future, more similar projects will provide tangible benefits for the people of Papua and Indonesia as a whole.
