PAPUAAROUND – The government should have developed eco-based tourism, including in Papua, especially since this island has a diverse nature and culture.

The government can manage and maintain eco-based tourism with the community and related parties so that local and foreign tourists can visit Cenderawasih Earth.

The government and the parties above must pay attention to environmental sustainability so that the potentials that exist in Papua are maintained and maintained.

Therefore, local residents were invited by the Provincial Government of Papua to develop eco-based tourism. The development was carried out because the tourism potential there is still wide open.

Environment-based tourism will get added value if the management and maintenance carried out by the government and residents are always developed so that the welfare of the residents there can be guaranteed.

Quoted by InfoTemanggung.com from AntaraNews.com, the Assistant for General Affairs of the Regional Secretariat of Papua, Derek Hagemur, is optimistic that the opportunities that Papua has to develop eco-based tourism are very large.

It depends on how the related parties collaborate to maintain the environment and available natural resources.

The Provincial Government of Papua emphasized that tourism in this area will be their concern because the opportunities for development are enormous, especially eco-based tourism.

Tourism object managers will refer to the concept of ecotourism development which will be implemented based on several points, namely increasing environmental awareness, nature conservation, and empowering local communities.

The points above must be interconnected with each other, especially between the local people themselves and tourists.

Tourism that is developed based on the environment is expected to be able to safeguard the future to bind every selling point of tourism so that the ecosystem there is maintained.

According to Derek, environmental sustainability for the future can be guaranteed if some of these functions are implemented.

The government will pay attention to tourism which must develop so that the community and government get contributions from the results of tourism management.

In addition, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) also get added value to grow and develop.
