PAPUAAROUND — President Jokowi inaugurated the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) or Papua Muda Inspiratif (PMI) building. Jokowi said he was proud of Papua’s progress.
During the inauguration, Jokowi was accompanied by Head of the National Intelligence Agency (KaBIN) Budi Gunawan, Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia, Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Moeldoko, and Plh Governor of Papua Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun, as well as PYCH founder Simon Tabuni. The inauguration of PYCH was marked by pressing the bell.
“With the grace of God Almighty, this morning I inaugurate the Papua Youth Creative Hub, and I launch the products of creation and innovation of the Papua Youth Creative Hub in Jayapura, Papua Province, thank you, may God bless you,” Jokowi said when inaugurating the PYCH building which was broadcast on YouTube Presidential Secretariat, Tuesday (21/3/2023).

Jokowi said he was proud that PYCH was built according to his plan. He hopes PYCH can advance Papua’s economy.
“This morning I really feel very proud because the request at that time was 23 Papua young people whom I invited to the Palace to have an empowerment space to improve the quality of human resources today we can see together at the Papua Youth Creative Hub in Jayapura,” Jokowi said.
Jokowi said he has plans to build HR spaces like PYCH in other provinces. He has conveyed the plan to BIN Chief Budi Gunawan.
“Earlier I whispered to KaBIN, this is Indonesia’s first in Papua, I asked that it also be built in NTT, in West Papua, then in Maluku, and Aceh, starting this year so that it will be completed next year, replicating everything here, this is very good,” Jokowi said.

Jokowi asks human resource empowerment spaces in other provinces to imitate those in Papua. Jokowi said he was satisfied with the development.
“I am very surprised that everything is there, on this page, from starting to enter the manufacture of cellphones, laptops, then there are podcasts, there are music studios, photography studios, and also exhibiting products in Papua with very good packaging and branding. If this continues, lest young people in other provinces be left behind by young people in Papua,” Jokowi said.
Jokowi said that before inaugurating PYCH he reviewed the building. Jokowi said he was amazed by the creativity of young Papua.
“There are designers for ethnic Papua clothes that are designed, given colors so that the differentiation is very visible. I am very amazed at the speed that is happening here,” he concluded.
