They are allowed to swim, but with time constraints and certain rules to preserve the surrounding environment.
In addition to its beauty, Kali Biru is renowned for various local legends that enhance its popularity. According to local lore, the river holds sacred meaning and is believed to possess magical powers. Legends tell of warriors bathing in the river before battle to gain extra strength.
Accessing Kali Biru is quite challenging but worthwhile for the beauty it offers. Visitors must rent a boat from local residents or use a speedboat from Waisai, the capital of Raja Ampat. The journey continues with a trek upstream and through the forest for about 30 minutes, showcasing beautiful scenery throughout. Entrance fees to Kali Biru vary, approximately ranging from Rp100,000 to Rp250,000 per person, depending on the facilities and services chosen by visitors. These fees contribute to the preservation and management of the area to ensure its beauty remains intact.
