PAPUAAROUND – The Papua Provincial Government (Pemprov) can become an example of the “ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum” considering that Bumi Cenderawasih has a strategic area and has abundant natural wealth so that it can accelerate economic growth.
Head of the Papua Province Communication and Informatics Service Jery Agus Yudianto said that at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit series of Summits or known as the ASEAN Summit there will also be an ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum.
“In the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum there will be four main activities which will later merge into efforts to strengthen Southeast Asia as the epicenter of growth,” said Jey Agus in Jayapura Friday (28/4).
According to Jeri, the four main activities are creative economy, digital economy for SDGs for sustainable development goals, business and investment summit and infrastructure.
“We hope that from this forum Papua Province can become one of the areas that can be used as a trial run for the forum,” he said.
He explained which of course this could accelerate the growth of the Province of Papua and the provinces around it.
“In principle, we, the Provincial Government of Papua, really support Indonesia’s strength at the 2023 Asean Summit where for Indonesia to progress and Papua Rise, Independent, Prosperous and just,” he said again.
