Man Arrested in Sukabumi for Person Trafficking in Papua

Sukabumi – The Sukabumi Police Criminal Investigation Unit, West Java, has arrested a man in connection with a human trafficking case in Papua.

A man was transferred to the Sukabumi Police Station, Pelabuhan Ratu on Wednesday night, February 16, 2022.

Thursday (17 February 2022) Head of the Sukabumi Police Satreskrim AKP I Putu Asti Hermawan Santosa said, “We have only arrested one person.”

Until now, the detainee is being investigated by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Skabumi Police.

This arrest was based on the testimony of many eye witnesses and relatives of trafficking victims in Sukabumi.

“He was arrested last night and investigators are continuing to investigate.” Asti said.

As previously reported, four women in Sukabumi are suspected of being victims of the crime of trafficking in persons (TPPO) in Papua.

Currently, four women, including a minor, are in the hands of the Papuan Police.
