Papuaaround.com – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned the President Director of PT RDG Airlines, Gibrael Isaak, to testify as a witness in an alleged corruption case involving the Papua Provincial Government. The examination took place on Monday at the KPK’s Red and White Building.
“KPK conducted the questioning at the Red and White Building,” said KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto in a statement on Monday.
Isaak’s testimony is related to allegations of bribery involving operational support funds and service improvement programs for the Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua. His summons follows a series of examinations conducted by KPK regarding this case.
Previous Investigations
Prior to Isaak’s questioning, KPK had summoned Papua’s Acting Governor, Ridwan Rumasukun, for questioning on December 11, 2024. Investigators also examined two other witnesses: Lusiana Samaya, the Financial Administration Officer of the Papua Provincial Secretariat, and Woro Pujiastuti, the Provincial Expenditure Treasurer. Both individuals testified on December 13, 2024.
“All witnesses attended the questioning,” Sugiarto confirmed.
KPK’s investigation aims to uncover the alleged misuse of operational funds designated for regional leaders. Investigators are delving into the allocation and utilization of these funds to determine whether they were used appropriately or diverted for illicit purposes.
A New Corruption Case Under KPK’s Scrutiny
This case is among the latest corruption investigations undertaken by KPK. The commission has been actively pursuing allegations of financial misconduct in various government institutions. The probe into Papua’s provincial government underscores KPK’s commitment to strengthening anti-corruption measures.
To enhance transparency and accountability, KPK has collaborated with multiple ministries and government agencies to implement 15 anti-corruption action plans. These initiatives are aimed at preventing corrupt practices within the public sector.
Ongoing Efforts to Combat Corruption
KPK continues to summon key individuals for questioning as part of its broader efforts to combat corruption in Indonesia. The commission remains focused on identifying and prosecuting those involved in financial mismanagement and bribery.
Authorities have yet to disclose whether Isaac’s testimony will lead to further legal action. However, KPK is expected to continue its thorough examination of all relevant evidence before making any formal charges.
Indonesia continues to face challenges in combating corruption within its institutions. Persistent efforts, combined with strong public support, are crucial to fostering integrity and accountability. The role of private entities like PT RDG Airlines in such cases highlights the need for a holistic approach to anti-corruption strategies, ensuring that ethical standards are upheld in both public and private sectors.
In conclusion, the KPK’s investigation into the alleged misuse of operational support funds in the Papua Provincial Government represents a crucial step toward strengthening transparency in public administration. The examination of figures like Gibrael Isaak and Ridwan Rumasukun, alongside the involvement of PT RDG Airlines, reflects the commission’s determination to address corruption comprehensively. As the case unfolds, its impact on governance and corporate accountability will be closely monitored nationwide.
