KPK Examines PUPR Papua Officials as Witnesses in the Lukas Enembe Case

PAPUAAROUND – Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined an official from the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Office of Papua Province as a witness in a case of alleged bribery and gratuities for an infrastructure project involving the non-active Governor of Papua Province, Lukas Enembe.

“The witness was present and questioned for his statement, including the alleged involvement of the suspect LE in determining the winner of the project at the Papua Provincial Government,” said KPK Head of Reporting Section, Ali Fikri, in Jakarta, Wednesday.

The witness was named Bram as the Head of Subdivision (Kasubag) of the PUPR Service Program for the Papua Province.

On Tuesday (31/1), during an examination at the Papua Regional Police Headquarters, investigators also examined witness statements related to the same case, namely on behalf of Meike, the high-ranking financial officer of PT Tabi Bangun Papua.

Initially, KPK investigators examined seven witnesses. However, five people did not meet the investigators so that a repeat summons will be carried out.

KPK investigators have named Lukas Enembe as a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratuity case for infrastructure projects in Papua Province.

In addition to Lukas Enembe, the Corruption Eradication Commission named PT Tabi Bangun Papua (TBP) Director Rijatono Lakka (RL) as a suspect in the case.

The suspect Rijatono Lakka allegedly handed over Rp. 1 billion to Lukas Enembe after being selected to work on three infrastructure projects at the Papua Provincial Government, namely the multi-year project or multi -year improvement of the Entrop-Hamadi Road with a project value of Rp. 14.8 billion, the multi-year project for rehabilitation of facilities and infrastructure. supporting Integration PAUD with a project value of IDR 13.3 billion, as well as a multi-year project for environmental management of AURI outdoor shooting venues with a project value of IDR 12.9 billion.

The KPK suspects that Lukas Enembe has received other gifts related to his position. Based on initial evidence, so far it has amounted to around Rp. 10 billion.

The KPK has extended the detention of Lukas Enembe for the next 40 days to investigate allegations of bribery and bribery for infrastructure projects in Papua.

Extension of the detention period for the next 40 days from 2 February 2023 to 13 March 2023. The detention was carried out at the KPK Detention Center.

Investigators revealed that the continued detention of Lukas Enembe was aimed at gathering further evidence of the alleged actions of the suspect Lukas Enembe.
