Papuaaround.com – Korbinmas Baharkam Polri conducted a Training on Enhancing Public Information and Documentation (PID) Services for its personnel at the Baharkam Polri Building, Trunojoyo, South Jakarta, on Thursday, February 28, 2025. The program aimed to strengthen the capacity of personnel in delivering professional and effective public information.

AKBP Singgih Hermawan, S.I.K, M.A.P, Head of Personnel at Korbinmas Baharkam Polri’s Planning and Administration Division, opened the event by providing directives and expressing hope that Korbinmas would continue to improve its professionalism in public communication.

The training began with a session led by the Public Relations Division (Divhumas) of Polri, followed by the main workshop titled “News Writing According to Journalistic Standards,” presented by PT. Qudo Buana Nawakara.

Anjar Budhi Prasetyo, VV Operation at PT. Qudo Buana Nawakara, delivered a session on public information transparency and the role of Polri as an informative public institution. He emphasized the importance of transparency and accessibility in public communication, while also explaining the distinctions between news, opinion, and propaganda.

“Understanding these differences is crucial to maintaining credibility as a trusted institution. We must ensure that our reports remain factual and free from opinion or propaganda,” Anjar stated.

He also highlighted the challenges faced by Polri in countering misinformation and fake news. “Our challenge is to present neutral yet positive narratives about Polri. The solution is to base reports on official statements and eyewitness accounts, avoiding subjective opinions that could distort the facts,” he added. Anjar stressed that accurate, well-structured narratives reinforce transparency and public trust in Polri.

Following this, Christine Natalia, a Content Writer at PT. Qudo Buana Nawakara, led a session on journalistic writing techniques and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). She underlined the importance of objectivity, accuracy, and balance in news reporting.

“News articles must answer the 5W1H questions clearly. Additionally, SEO optimization is crucial to ensure that published articles appear on the first page of search engines, making them more accessible to the public,” Christine explained.

Geralda Talitha, also a Content Writer at PT. Qudo Buana Nawakara, continued with a session on writing in accordance with the Enhanced Indonesian Spelling System (EYD). She emphasized proper use of letters, words, numbers, loanwords, punctuation, and effective sentence structures.

“Overly long sentences can be difficult to read and understand. We should aim for concise and effective writing to ensure that news reports are easily comprehensible to the public,” Geralda noted.

The training concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where Korbinmas personnel raised various questions on effective public information dissemination. The event was wrapped up with a closing statement by AKBP Singgih Hermawan, who reaffirmed the critical role of Polri in ensuring public information transparency.

Through this training, Korbinmas Baharkam Polri aims to enhance its personnel’s competency in delivering accurate, transparent, and professionally structured information, thereby strengthening public trust in Polri.
