KONI Jayapura to Hold a Meeting to Discuss the Progress of Papua Sports

PAPUAAROUND.COM – The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of Jayapura Regency will soon hold a 2023 working meeting to discuss the progress of sports, one of which is to publish the best athletes from Papua Province, Kenambai Umbai.

Jayapura Regency KONI Chairman Mathius Awoitauw in Sentani, Wednesday, said that with the existence of three New Autonomous Regions (DOB) in Papua, the meeting will discuss the readiness of each sports administrator to face the Papua Provincial Sports Week (Porprov).

“Because Jayapura Regency is included in the parent province, every sports administrator must be ready to be able to produce the best athletes for Papua both at the national and international levels,” he said.

According to Mathius, the implementation of the meeting will also discuss the work program of the Jayapura Regency KONI management for the 2022-2026 period.

He said that his party hoped that all relevant parties could attend the meeting to discuss and get an idea to advance sports on Cendrawasih Earth.

“Because to advance sports in Papua, there must be collaboration from all parties including the local government, KONI and also all other related parties,” he said.

He added that his party also hopes that the security situation in Jayapura Regency will remain conducive so that the implementation of the raker can run safely and smoothly.

The implementation of the Jayapura Regency KONI meeting was originally planned to take place on January 13-14, 2023, but the security situation in the area that was not conducive was postponed on January 20-21, 2023.
