Commission V of the DPR Papua which is in charge of education, health and sports has proposed a draft regional regulation (Raperda) for the province of sports.
The draft Regional Regulation Draft was submitted by the Chairman of Commission V of the Papua DPR, Jack Kamasan Komboy to the Regional Regulation Formation Agency or Bapemperda DPR Papua on Thursday, December 15, 2022.
The Raperda for the sports province will be included in the Papua DPR’s Regional Regulation Formation Program (propemperda) in 2023.
“We submitted the draft for Papua as a sports province, because we feel it is important to make Papua a province of development and achievement,” said Jack Komboy.

According to him, this is an effort by Commission V of the Papua DPR to improve sports culture in Papua Province.
“We will hand it over to Bapemperda leadership with the hope that it will be included in the Propemperda, so that it can be discussed further on the Bapemperda agenda in January 2023,” he said.
Deputy Bapemperda DPR Papua Natan Pahabol said the draft regional regulation for the sports province was an initiative of Commission V of the Papua DPR.
“We have received the draft regional regulation. Later they will complete the academic paper and also the draft,” said Natan Pahabol.

He said his party was postponing the propemperda agenda until January 2023 because several drafts from the executive and board initiatives had not met the requirements.
Propemperda will contain around 37-38 Raperda in early 2023.
According to him, the Raperda consists of commission or council member initiatives which are refined into institutional initiatives, and executive proposals.
“All of this will be included in the Propemperda in January 2023. We are opening up space for NGOs and other parties who wish to convey ideas regarding several rapedations. Please convey it to us according to the mechanism and we are ready to accept it for discussion,” said Natan Pahabol.
