PAPUAAROUND.COM – Papua Governor Lucas Enembe was arrested today. The arrest of Lukas Enembe was also justified by the Papua Police Chief, Irjen Mathius D. Fahiri.
“Yes (secured),” said Irjen Mathius D. Fakhiri when contacted by detikcom, Tuesday (10/1/2023).
The information gathered, Lukas Enembe was taken to the Papua Police Mobile Brigade today. However, Inspector General Mattius has not further confirmed Lucas’ arrest.
Irjen Mathius said that this matter should be referred further to the KPK. The police are just helping.
“Just ask the KPK later, we just help. Please ask the KPK,” Mathius said.
Lukas Enembe Becomes Suspect
Previously, Lukas Enembe’s legal team coordinator, Stephen Roy Rening, revealed the determination of his client as a KPK suspect. He said his client had been named as a suspect by the KPK for a Rp 1 billion bribery and gratification case.
According to Roy’s statement, Lukas Enembe has been named as a suspect in the KPK since September 5, 2022. Therefore, Lukas Enembe was called as a suspect by the KPK on Monday (12/9) at Mako Brimob Kotaraja, Jayapura, Papua.
“I got information that this case has been investigated, it means that there is already a suspect. There is a letter from the KPK, on September 5, the Governor has become a suspect, even though the Governor has not heard any information at all,” Roy told reporters at the Mako Brimob of the Papua Regional Police.
However, he regretted that the determination of the suspect against his client was judged unprofessional. He explained that the Criminal Code stipulates that a person who is made a suspect must have two pieces of evidence and have been examined based on the decision of the Constitutional Court Number 21 of 2014.
“We regret this unprofessional attitude of the KPK,” Roy said.

Lucas was arrested after previously being named as a suspect in a bribery and gratification case of an infrastructure development project. He became a suspect along with PT Tabi Bangun Papua (PT TBP) boss Rijatono Lakka (RL) as a bribe-giver.
Lucas allegedly accepted a Rp 1 billion bribe from Rijatono. The bribe was given because Rijatono’s company won several development projects in Papua.

Then, the multi-year rehab project of facilities and infrastructure supporting PAUD Integration with a project value of IDR 13.3 billion. Furthermore, the multi-year project of structuring the AURI outdoor shooting venue environment with a project value of RP 12.9 billion.
