The murder had an impact on a wider event because the thugs then came and set fire to the Double O Sorong discotheque.
The West Papuan Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Tornagogo Sihombing said seven people were still at large and on the Most Wanted List (DPO).

Tornagogo hopes that within 1-2 days, the hunt for his men will pay off.
Therefore, he appealed to the public not to try to hide the perpetrators.
“I ask all parties not to protect the perpetrators. All parties must take responsibility for this case,” Tonagogo said.
“If we agree to hand it over to the police, I ask for his willingness as the Chief of Police. We cannot hide the perpetrators,” said Tornagogo Sihombing during a press conference at the Resort Police Headquarters, Saturday (29/1/2022).
Tornagogo continued, Sorong is the face of West Papua because it is a stopover for Raja Ampat.
